I can’t walk along the beach for more than 5 minutes without itching like crazy. I get itchy in awkward situations, during exercise and in hot baths. I have been staying in LA, and it seems to be worse.
When I was in Greece and Tenerife (humid and hot) this summer on holiday, I had no issues at all. Now though in dry LA I can’t seem to sweat much and itch so badly.
I really need some things to try, the only things I’ve tried are acv and getting a tan.
I have been rather stressed while I’ve been here but do you think it could be linked to the humidity?
Thanks,
Kito

Kito,
I’m sorry to hear of your struggles with hives. I know this condition can be very frustrating. My suggestion to you is to spend some time reading this forum, watch the YouTube videos I created, and don’t lose hope. There are ways to treat it in the short term (antihistamines, sweat therapy, etc.). For the long term, I suggest experimenting with diet and reducing anything in your diet or environment that may be adding to your hives. Hang in there!

I live in Coastal Houston where humidity averages around 80%. It doesn’t seem to matter. I get the hives anytime my body overheats. The only thing that helps me is at least 20 minutes of an ice cold shower on the affected places. Good luck!

I’m 23 and have had this conditon for over 10 years now. I have tried every treatment in the book. Preciption medication and shots, you name it. I recently found the ONLY thing that will keep from breaking out in hives. Yes, I won’t break out in hives while I am on this medication. It’s the generic version of Zyrtec (ceterizine). I usually just buy the cheap walmart version so it only costs me roughly $20 a year. Maybe this will help someone out because for the longest time I though I would never find a solution.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share that, Danielle. Yes, I mention cetirizine in my book as one of the popular antihistamines to try. A lot of people find relief with that. Allegra is another one people use quite often. Sometimes the effects of an antihistamine can lessen, so some people will rotate them out. Every person is different, and that’s why I always urge people not to give up hope and to keep trying different treatment options (after they’ve talked with their doctors, of course). Thanks again, and I’m really glad you’ve found something that is giving you relief.
