UPDATE: Cholinergic Urticaria still in Check

December 27, 2017 by Forum Member

I posted some comments six months ago about how sweat therapy has gotten rid of my hives. It hasn’t been easy, but I have been able to work out 5 or 6 times a week with the sole focus on sweating.

I wear heavy sweat clothes and engage in high intensity workouts that help me sweat quicker and for the duration of the workout. I have found that I need at least 30 mins of active sweating to resolve the problem for the day.

I also try to take a hot bath or sauna at the gym and induce sweating that way if I can’t get in a quality workout. I combined this with intermittent fasting (eating within a 8-9 hour window everyday) and for the time being I am cured. The combination of the sweat therapy and time-limited fasting cured me. No medication was required.

I hope this helps,

Hives

I’ve been on a hiatus from working out for several months and my diet has been horrendous. I’ve noticed that my c.urt symptoms and rate of occurrence has skyrocketed. I too used to routinely intermittent fast and worked out 6 days a week at a moderate to intense level and my symptoms were much more abated then. My plan is to eliminate refined sugars, dairy, and meat from my diet for 12 weeks. I also have accompanying gastrointestinal disturbance, a result of food allergies (I presume). I’m hoping to get this thing under control.

Hey Jamaal, do you get the prickly (pins and needles) system, and if so what age did you start to get it? Thanks

But what About the itching or burning sensation that you get when your body temperature is increased?

I have read where a lot of people have done sweat therapy and have said that it stops the itching. Does it just stop the itching or does it stop the red bumps from appearing as well?

    Thanks!!

I’ve suffered from this since being diagnosed for low thyroid. I’ve found that exercising/sweating virtually eliminates all symptoms. For me that is 4-6 times a week by at least an hour. I asked my doctor about this and found that sweating releases histamines and came to the conclusion that the body just cant produce it fast enough to cause a reaction. In any case, I take Zyrtec to even out the symptoms (otherwise even spicy food will set me off) and Benadryl 15 mins prior to exercise will drastically minimize discomfort (when you’re just getting started with the above routine.
