My urticaria might be cured!

October 10, 2018 by Forum Member

As an 18-year-old I suffered terribly from urticaria in the form of horribly itchy hives when ever I overheated, whether it be through exercise or through embarrassment or any other reason I got hot. This continued for a few years and then reared its ugly head again about 30 years later, and I’ve been suffering ever since.

I’m now 56. Four weeks ago I decided to start intermittent fasting to lose a few pounds, which meant cutting out soy milk coffees, instead drinking black. I’ve actually gone off soy milk coffees since as I prefer the taste of black.

I normally take Zyrtec every day, as I get hives every day. It dawned on me that my hives have suddenly stopped in the last few weeks, and I’ve been wracking my brain to think why and it can only be the soy milk. It isn’t listed as a ‘high histamine food,’ but I’m elated! I’ve been doing 30 minute stepper workouts without the slightest rash!! Have a look at what you’re eating. Maybe it’s your diet.

Good luck!

-Lee

That’s awesome! Glad you found your own cure. Every person has their own unique cure. Mine was building up a heat tolerance by eating really spicy food on a regular basis. I haven’t had an outbreak in over 2-3 years.

Hi Lee. Thanks for sharing! Question- besides cutting out Soy and seeing improvement, do you have kids or were you able to have kids with any CU side affects?

Guys, as a person who’s suffered from Cholinergic Urticaria for 20 years of my life I have found the only solution to this! The only solution is to excersise and sweat atleast 1-2 a week. Keep your pores open! When we don’t excercise our pores close and it is our body’s unfortunate error in that instead of our pores opening to cool down our skin, our body sends the wrong signals thus giving us those painful or itchy hives! Just excercise ! It’s the only solution. Forget the pills, just go out and run and go those sweat glands going!
Best of luck , let me know if you have any questions 🙂

I came across your blogs because I was diagnosed with thrush from antibiotics (after 5 goes), to get rid of a skin ulcer. I also did have hives the day before finishing the antibiotics
